Default Static main menu music

Okay, here's the thing, I have a static main menu, no shellmap, just an image and I want to have background music playing, I was thinking I could replace the menu appearance sound with a track but Im not sure if I can get that looping, haven't tried yet, I would like to keep my options open though and hear a few suggestions.

I'm trying to make this work too, but I don't know how either. Apparently you need a map to do it. So somehow you should make a map that displays the image. Problem is that it defeats the whole purpose of not having a shellmap in the first place...

well try having a shell map with nothing on it that just plays the music. And have a Picture to cover it all.

thing is then, the menu won't appear until you move your mouse...

I am still amazed how remarkably limited the Generals Engine is....

Hmmm, there probably is some way to make it show all the time. Blitz2 has something like this, no?

It's not the engine, it's the implementation that's messed up. If we only had some more INI codes and stuff we could do a lot more.

you mean the 'beep' sound when you click the buttons and stuff?
They're in the SoundEffects.ini
and you put the replacement sound files in ...Data/Audio/Sounds/

Create an ini object that uses a Square model with an image as a skin, then go to World Builder and place that object in the middle of the map, then save the new map as ShellMapMD.map in a folder in the Zero Hour Main Directory called Maps.

But doesn't that defeat the purpose of not having a shellmap?
