as you know, the Kamov Ka-29 is coded Helix by NATO. but I am interested in what russian calls it.
for example, Ka-50, NATO calls it HOKUM while russian calls it Black Shark.

The Russians call the Ka-50 the Черная Акула, or translated (indeed) Black Shark. In case you are wondering, no, the Sage engine does NOT support cyrillic string files.

As far as I can tell from the Ka-29 page, it does not have a Russian name.

I am russian, and when I had a look at my aviation book, it does not say any alternative name. Just Ka-29.
Ka-29 is a modified version of Ka-27 which is known to NATO as Helix-B.
It was built in mind to transport troops and provide firing cover to them.
So, to answer your question, it's just Ka-29.
If you want more information about this chopper like size(s), what weapons it had and so on, I will be willing to help you out there, because it has every stat in this book. But then you can always find that on the net...

P.S. Indeed, the Ka-50 is Черная Акула (Black Shark). The Ka-52 is Аллигатор (Alligator).

Thanks for all helps. I just don't like hokum as much as helix, so I'm going to look for a better name of the copter. what is russian's favorite name?
maybe Mishkin would tell me some.
