transparency material in blade propelers
I made an Mi24 Hind in gmax with RenX pack installed. However, I can't seem to get the material for the blades/propeler look just like the Comanche.
Can somebody here experienced in RenX/gmax material creation help me out?

Also, to make the blades cast shadows on the ground, check the box "Shadw" in the W3d export options.

So it was ADD, I was using Alpha Blend that's why I'm not getting correct results. Thanks a lot.
By the way, what about the soil on stinger sites? Do they use ADD too, I used ALPHA BLEND but it doesnt look right.

Hmmm guys, there is a bit of a problem.
Now that I look at it in comparison with the Comanche, the ADD blending mode didn't look to good. The blades look like ghosts/phantoms rather than a fast spinning propeller.
Well I use ADD blending mode alright but only on muzzle flashes, but I don't think I'll use it with the propellers, just doesn't look right. Any other idea on how to make these fast spinning blades look llike that with the Comanche?

you could also read up on the different w3d shaders, the information is in the RenX install directory, the default path would be C:\Program Files\RenegadePublicTools\HowTo\W3D Tutorials\content\w3d_shader.htm

I've checked the tutorials.
I've also tried all the other blending modes.
Still my blades aren't transparent on the black areas of its texture.
I wonder what's wrong, maybe it's in the .tga texture that I'm using. Another blend mode? No I'm also pretty sure that it should be ALPHA BLEND because it's the mode that I use when making scaffolds and fishing nets. But to my surprise the blades are still solid black with faint white stripes. The faint white stripes are the only ones I expect to see when using ALPHA BLEND, but like I said it still appears solid black!!!
Maybe the texture to be used is .dds and not .tga, no I'm sure either of them is fine, but I've ran out of ideas. What has gone wrong?
