Original Music for Mod Makers
I am available to create original tracks for in game use for mods currently in works. I've composed and/or performed music for over 15 years and am now retired from the industry, sitting and enjoying my family and CNC...(and trying to learn modding without going %#&@%*$ nuts!).
If you are interested, let me know and we'll talk

^ Guys, you should give this guy an opportunity *everybody* overlooks decent music in their mods and relies too much on the stuff in the game.

Nox, Ive got a couple of questions: what instrument/s do you perform with? And what would you say your musical *style* is most rooted in? I know this is a very generic question, probably a better one is what musicians do you respect and have had a large influence on your style?
Not that I have any jobs for you I can think of, Im just curious, as I like to play a little music myself sometimes A bit more information about yourself might get people more interested though

I would also like to know what you make. I'm currently making a total conversion, sadly by myself right now, and it is in dire need of original music. I don't want to give out too many details about my tc yet because it is too small right now. The mod is going to be huge and I'm not willing to give up months of dreaming and work.

Fair enough. I do all my writing now using Fruity Loops on my PC. I use to play guitar when I was performing live. My PC music writing began on a MAC using Encore. That was a killer program - tho it required you to have an external sound module.
As far as influences....there are so many. When I performed live, I played hard rock/metal. I never had a favorite band or guitarist. The closest I came to that was when after a show some guy in the sudience told me I sounded just like Vivian Campbell (former DIO guitarist) It was a great complement. When I began composing, it changed over to symphonic metal/symphonic rock. I also became somewhat adapted to the Baroque style of classical - it was evident in my compositions. Today, my main musical persuasions come from soundtracks, such as King Arthur, Tears of the Sun, Hunt for Red October, Gladiator, Van Helsing, etc.
Music needs to be something that stirs a person from deep within. For example, if you watch the final scene of Gladiator where Maximus dies, with no sound, then you probably wouldn't feel any emotions, however, with the particular piece the movie plays during that scene, very few could honestly say they shed no tear.

I got 2 excellent composers. I really do suggest someone pick this guy up if he is good. Maybe he should post examples of his work.

I'd recomend as said get some of your own creations online, get some free webspace from lycos or something and post some links. You won't get very many jobs without some kind of portfolio or examples of work.
