I can't get it to work on other things! Grrr! Anybody know the trick?

Yes, it is, but it doesn't work for other things except for the Spectre! :-(

What are you talking about? The ParticleSystem isn't just limited to the Spectre Gunship. You can use it just like any other ParticleSystem.

The ParticleSystem in question is "SpectreGunshipExplosionLight", and it is linked through the FXList "FX_SpectreHowitzerExplosion"

I myself have used this ParticleSystem several times because it just looks so cool!

First explain what you're actually trying to do. If it's a ProjectileDetonationFX you're after, then first make sure there actually is a projectile to detonate in the first place. Projectile-less weapons like machine guns can't have detonation FX, ever.
