Default Generals distance unit

Just stumbled upon this in the GameData.ini:

Quote:
; acceleration due to gravity, in dist/sec^2
; note that our distance units are roughly one foot, so
; this corresponds to earth-normal gravity (32 ft/sec^2)
This can be used as a guideline for anyone modelling in gmax or 3dsmax

In the WorldBuilder tutorial, I recall that the DistanceUnit is about 10 feet. :tard:

What's the right distance now?

And why didn't they use meters as length units? :dead:

I've checked your info and you're partially correct :

Quote:
Length and width distances are measured in feet. To assist in measurement, you can toggle display of the
map grid. Each square of the grid measures 10 scaled feet on a side.
So the worldbuilder landscape is based on a 10 by 10 feet grid, and for making models each ingame unit = 1 foot...
for convenience i'd use 1foot = ±30cm

No, 1 feet = 0.3045 cm.

I'd use 10 feet is 3 meters.
