Default Mod Idea - Generals XXsmall

Just a thought really...

Generals today demand quite some hardware, but could it be possible to go mayhem on the content and reduce polys and effects. Could we be able to play generals on really old computers?

Why do I think of this?
It is cristmas, and we play alot of games. There is often 1 very good computer, 1 old and maybe ok, and one really old.
Could we fit generals to all of them?

What is your thought on this?
We would have to sacrifice estetics, and it would look ugly ...

Would it not be pointless? I mean, is that not already why you have the option to change the graphics settings in games? It just seems like a lot of work for no real gain. Think about it, EVERY model reduced and all the FX done to a lower standard? It's almost like them re-releasing Half Life 2 on the Half Life engine... kinda stupid.

I agree. Why do so much work if you can just go to options and click "low" and set resoulution to a low number... that is what the options are for to best suit your pc.

Besides, you can't really go lower than Gen's polycounts without getting REALLY ugly. Red Generals was started as a TC from RA2 to Gen for the lower end PCs, butit got nowhere.
