What are -they called?
you know, you fix the shortcut in zh to have -debug or something in the shortcut?
What are they called and what are the possible ones I could use? I remember there is one that skips the intro and whatnot.

-quickstart
Disables intro movie for Zero Hour (but not the EA logo, you can disable this by editing movies.ini)
-noIntro
The same as above, but for Generals
-noShellMap
Disables the map for the menu screens, the game loads faster (although when you first load a level it has to load the engine then, but no real differences really), it shows a static image instead
-noFPSLimit
Not sure if this affects ZH (as I've tweaked the "caps" in my GameData.ini thingiemabob), but this removes the 30 FPS limit imposed by EA to "ensure consistency accross all platforms", they could have at least allowed you to change this in the options screen, a la Halo-PC, but hey... can the majority of EA customers be classified as "computer literate"?
Erm no.... they're the ones who go around deleting "C:\Windows" when told to make some free space on their HDDs
-mod <bigname>
Loads a userdata big file, rather than from the \Program Files\ directory.... "to make life easier"
Thats all I can think of for now

you forgot -win. It starts the game ina minimized window which is very useful when messing with the .wnd files.

Mishkin: You can do that?
I thought the game compiled all the INI and WNDs before loading up
And IRT Waspo: yes, you can use more than one... just have a space before the hyphen/dash character

NO, you misunderstood me.
I remember when I was messing with the main menu .wnd files, and testing what had changed in the main menu, sometimes, the whole game would freeze and even ctrl alt delete didn't exit me back to windows. The only solution was to restart. But when you launch game in window, then if same problem ocurs, you can take care of it.

Change your group and machine policy settings for Ctrl Alt Del to revert it back to "enterprise/Windows 2000" mode, it becomes a lot more responsive then
Somehow, when the "normal" CAD is pressed, windows just invokes the task manager under normal credentials and process priority
When you do it in "enterprise mode", it invokes the security window under "NT Authority\SYSTEM" (ie: the uber user in Windows) and also adjusts process priority to get the system up ASAP, ditto for the task manager when you invoke it from the security window

About the FPS limit: If you disable it, the game will run as fast as possible in single player games. Setting the game speed in the skirmish screen will no longer work. This doesn't affect multiplayer games, since it would cause sync problems then.
