Default Assisted Targetting of Multiple Unit Types

Basically, is it possible? I want an artillery piece to fire at a location determined by a spotter, and I assumed this would be viable through the Patriot assist modules. However, it would seem that assisting is limited to objects of the same type ( Patriot -> Patriot ), as opposed to different types ( Mig -> Patriot, for example ).

Is it possible to use a spotter to designate a target that artillery will then fire at?

I think some people have got the laser targeting thing to work though. Although I can't remember who it was or how they did it.

hmm, reading the above thread, the laser targetting thing only seems to work using OCLs. I wonder if you could use this logic, but setting an OCL at the firepoint of the artillery.

So, the laser pointer targets something, which then creates an OCL shell at the artillery firepoint that fires at the target. Seems a bit of a long shot though ...

hmmm i think this is very difficult... it cannot work by using ocl because ocls create new objects like the a10 strike or so...
i think that this is only possible by using the faerie fire from the avenger... cause there u can mark an unit and then the other object(the turret) attacks this unit

Alas, adding a WeaponBonus = TARGET_FAERIE_FIRE to weapon.ini makes no difference; it simply doesn't read it. However, it gives the impression it should work there as it doesnt crash out ( as opposed to adding it to the object.ini )
