Default animating questions

well, i kinda learned how to animate, and am gonna do the basic animations for the infantry as no one on the team know how to, so what im wondering is the whole infantry animating thing

i can make the infantry walk fine, fairly smoth and stuff, but what is the big problem is i dont understand how to make it attack in a diffrent set of snimations, do you understand what im saying? simplest way to say it is

how do i get an infantry model to have two diffrent animations, walking and attacking, if you know how i would really like to have some help, thanks

It's done by attaching the whole model to a pre-made "skeleton", which says how each bone on the model should move. A skeleton is basically an animation without a model. When the model is attached to the skeleton, you can use the skeleton animations on the model.

That's about all I know. :/

If you make a model with the same bones as the Red Guard, then AFAIK the model is then able to use the Red Guard animations. I think you only need to make a skeleton if you are making custom animations.

But I'm not an animator so don't hold me to it.
