Default HELP my new bulding is invisible!!!

ok i made a 3d model of a building in gmax converted it with renx in w3d put in the wd3 directory of the game with big editor name it AVPARTHENON gone to the fractions ini files changed the american powerplant model for the undamged condition from ABPWRPLANT to ABPARTHENON but it doesent show anything in the game invisible with smoke ony.it doesent have any animations and its texured with a jmpeg file.do i need to do anything else like addin the texture in any game folder in a specific format?please help i even tried to add via edititng the american humvee but still nothing.also will it work with the map editor?

You can't use jpeg files for skins,
they must be tga or dds

Even if you use an incorrect skin file, the model would show up only pink; the game isn't picking up the model in the first place. Check the filename isn't too long, and check the file is correct format etc. ( I'm not a modeller, so I don't know the specifics ).

btw, there is no need to put the files in the BIG ... just put then in Art\W3D

try opening the W3D in W3D viewer (comes with renx incase you didnt know). If It shows up, then it meens that you either have the name wrong in the ini, the ini isn't being read (in the wrong folder) or the model is in the wrong directory. If it doesn't show up in W3D viewer, then there is something wrong with the model. Also, if the texture was an alpha (transparent) one, then the mesh will not show up, pink or otherwise, if it can't read the texture.

When you export it with RenX make sure you open the tools panel (right button something or whatever) and CHECK the stupid bone box (I hate that BOX!!) Because if it isn't checked it'll export the object but nothing will see it... even W3DView.
