I want to give the MiG a second weapon, a nuke or napalm bomb, and let it switch back and forth like the Ranger does with his rifle and flash-bangs. If possible, I'd like the switching to only be an option at the airfield.
I'm looking through various .ini files (CommandSet, CommandButton, etc), but I'm not quite sure what I need to do.
Well to start off, aircraft behave strangely when you give them a weapon switch. The thing is, aircraft only fly home when ALL of their weapons are empty. But if they have a second weapon, they'll wait for that one to be empty too. The problem there is that the second weapon might not even be able to attack any targets (for example the secondary weapon is an air-to-air missile and you're fighting someone with no airforce), so you're just stuck and have to force them to go home manually or they'll just keep circling the target.
No, at present I just want them to have the option for a little extra punch against buildings. They'd still have the napalm missile, and it would still target ground.
What I really want is to give them some bomber capability. The USA has the Aurora or the Stealth, but the MiG isn't too great against buildings.
What ImmoMan said is right, even 4 ur situation. I think there is kinda a way round it tho in ur situation-use a special power like the helixes napalm(/nuke) bomb. This way you won't have 2 wait 4 the second weapon (bomb) to be used b4 returning 2 base, coz the special power will "charge". Not a perfect solution, but it's the best I can think of. Who knows, u mame b able 2 set it so the spacial power only charges under certain conditionstates. If so, it would be perfect, coz u could set it to only charge when landed (dafault conditionstate).
this solution was implemented by my friend with the napalm bomb special ability. the jet will go back to the airfield to "charge" before it fly to the target.
