Default BuildVariations problem

Something I noticed when using BuildVariations to use a random list of objects as one single object... When you use type select (press E in generals), it selects only the one kind of object as a single type. I don't know if the Technical has this problem, but our units certainly do.

So what basically happens is, you have more than one object type of what is really the same unit. When you select one and then press 'type select', it only selects the units of the exact same type, even though other similar units should also be classed as that type. But it doesn't select those.

The Technical uses an ObjectReskin for two of the three chassis, so maybe that is why it does work there. The problem here is that our units differ only in the selection/movement voices, not in the model like Technicals do. And for some reason the ObjectReskin code doesn't allow you to 're-skin' into different voices. So we're kinda stuck here.

So... does anyone know a way out of this?
