just wanted to know, is there any quicker way to skin infantry than unwrapping each faces manually? I tried chilliskinner but all I got were scattered faces that's got no clue of where it belongs. Thanks in advance
Try the UV Map tools before going to unwrap. Also, apply a chequer with a diagonal gradient texture to your mesh like the attached image so that you can see texture distortion and alignment.
i belive that you can reskin the SKN file , with a complete brand new skin , the only thing you would have to select in SUB-OBJECT level would be the gun (so you can hide it) , so that it does not get the whole skin applied to it as well.
Great TIP key op , i dunno why i neva thought or seen that before :P ty
do I still have to select each face individually after this?
No.Dont be afraid to break your mesh up if you need to.UVW modifiers can also be applied to a selection of the mesh - in mesh edit mode, select the parts you want to map, and while still in sub-object mode, apply the UVW modifier.
ok I've been using the uv map, but the problem is, everytime I selected a new face that i'd like to map, it deletes the previous mappings that I've done! Any ways to solve this? (Anyway thanks again)
