Fitting Cameos into their Coordinates
How can I get my single cameo to fit perfectly (not resized) into a command bar? My cameo is made the exact same size as the purchase buttons. It is 50X44 (about the same size as the purchase buttons)

Open up controlbar.wnd and search for "Cameo". Then change the coordinates.

I used the gendev cameo mapper and got all the correct coordinates (btw, did i mention that the cameo is the exact same size of the purchase cameos ingame?) but ingame it still looks like crap. Why?!

I understand that this is an unusual problem, but has anyone else had this problem?

50x44 isn't really that much for an icon. Despite what you may think the existing cameos are not that size. They're 62x50. The size doesn't matter, the game resizes the pics to fit the available space. Much the same as what it does to model textures. But ingame the textures could appear blurred or pixely when their resolution isn't high enough. If I were you I'd make them in a higher resolution. 62x50 would be good, but nothing is stopping you from going higher.

62x50!? Darn, all this time I've been making them in 60x48! What size are the large ones supposed to be in?
Oh, and to the OP: Make sure you save the cameo in a file with dimentions which are powers of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, etc.). I found my cameos were very distorted when not saved like this.

AFAIK, the size of the file the cameos are in makes no difference-the distortion you got was probably because you didn't specify the dimentions of the .tga, which would cause distortion

sc4freak, you probably read the sizes from the mapped images files. EA did something very strange when mapping the icons: They made the outer edge of the icons twice the size, and mapped the icons without that edge. So in fact the icons are mapped as 60x48, but the icons are really 62x50. Don't ask me why they did it.

Okay, I have it so it is 62X50, but ingame it looks horrible even though I have the coordinates and resolution information correct from the GenDev Cameo Mapper. So, this would mean that Zero Hour is sizing it down to fit in the placeholder, which is definately smaller than 62X50 because it is resizing the image. What do I use for the coordinates?
