Default Advanced Question for those who can answer it...about co-op

Howdy, I consider my bot scripting and editing skills to be advanced enough to the point where I can rock anybody's world. I don't consider myself to be an expert, but I've created a fair share number of bot-supported maps that should make any bot lover melt with happiness.

My current map is a bit more advanced project with the combination of kickass skirmish scripting AI and predefined bots already on the map. Well...I just reciently figured out how to create single player maps for some kickass scripted fun, but once you've beaten those and know how they play, then you get a tad bored with it and wish to move on to another map.

Anywho, basically I want to take one of my exisitng maps, planet neptune, and add a scripted "Boss General" to the map for a skirmish map, then branch off from there and add a bit more bots to it. However, I then run into the problem of everybody seeing the boss general as a neutral player and the boss general seeing everybody else as a neutral player. Thus, I can get it to build a base, set up defense, follow awaypoints and and pratically anything and everything, except to fire on other players or bots! No matter which scripts i use, i can't get the bugger or any bots to play when it's in a skirmish or more than a single player mode. I feel I've tried everything. Perhaps there's something I'm not understanding?

I use the official tutorial regularly, which got me into building some of the most beautiful, kickass gameplay maps alive, but every attempt I make to try to create a co-op mission based map fails, even tho it says it's possbile in the tutorial.

If anybody has a VERY simple map template for me to look at to show me how it's done, then please, show me. Or if anybody has a step by step instructions of how to do it, then please, reply with it. I know of AoD maps, but I rather not go that way, seeing as those are extremely laggy, and it's not the style of gameplay i wish to use. Those are usually always the same gameplay, thus it gets boriing after a while. I enjoy the challenge of having skirmish bots that do different things based on different armies, thus creating different difficulties of gameplay.

Thanks!

I'd say you should probably post this on the Map Authoring Forum. http://www.deezire.net/modules.php?n...file=viewforum. Unfortunatelly, it doesn't seem to be very active, but its worth a try.

It sounds like you have just set up the player alliances and relationships wrong for your 'boss'. Instead of using Civilian or Neutral factions for it, try basing it off one of the existing ones and checking in the player template dialog box that it considers everybody else to be enemies and that everybody else considers it an enemy too.

Failing that, or even extra as a safeguard, trigger a script right at the start that overrides the player relationships and makes the boss an enemy to all other players and vice versa.

I already tried that before you mentioned it. Didn't work.
