Default unit editor

I am currently building a quick and simple unit editor in Visual Basic and was wondering what you would like to see in it

i was thinking of making it tell you what values it expects but i want to here from you

at the moment it is currently working but i will not release it until a couple of features have been added such as the ability to search throgh all .ini files for the search string

Maybe u can make it have a preview feature, where u can combine different w3d's if possible (LIKE RA2 Voxels)

Maybe have all parts, weapons, upgrades, etc, handy, make it real easy to use, for noob's like me

the idea is that you tell it where your ini files are and it does the rest right down to linking relevent files throgh a couple of mouse clicks..... if i get around to that feature

if you can get to make anything as handy as the Unit Editor in Warcraft 3's World Editor ... then that would be great ...

easily create new units, by copying an existing unit, and then change values etc ...

take a look at it ... if you can make something like that, then it would be really n00b-friendly

I think there is some confusion about what this does. He said "unit editor" - from the sounds of it ( ) it's a codeing tool. Some people seem to think it's an art tool :tard: .

A useful addition would be a debug tool for error finding in objects (units and such) - after you find out which unit has the error from the "\Command and Conquer Generals Data\ReleaseCrashInfo.txt" file it would be good to know what wrong with the unit, like spelling errors.

It can maybe let us jump from object to object easily. A good idea will be to make a list of object names, then let you sort them or search from them.

that alone would make it a worthwile program ...

a program thats just sorts out all units, seperates the ART entries from the RULES entries (i hate looking at all those ART codes, when im simply trying to make a new unit with new values etc)
