Default Crash with no bugs?

ok adding a new faction is harder than i thought it would be, after editing science.ini and playertemplate.ini alone i should beable to get a base side, right? i mean one simaler to the observer. That is all i want to start then i have a basis to add units and superweaopns and such to.

but when i run generals ZH (multiplayer) with my files in place it gets to the loading screen where it would normaly tell you about the faction;/generals abilitys and crashes. World builder gives me nothing and works fine.

so... to make the basis of a blank side what do i need to edit? anyone?

If not can you please point me in the direction of a tutorial that will help with creating an new side.

You only need to edit PlayerTemplate.ini to make a very basic side, and if I remember CommandBar.ini too to prevent errors with the bar; if you're crashing out, run WorldBuilder see what it picks up. If that fails, check the crash log.

As for a tutorial, there is one on GenDev I think.

I believe there is also a problem where if a side doesnt own something it doesnt show up in WB

yea this tutorial GenDev is ok and ive already followed it already but i still get crashes after the game has finished loading a multiplayer game, i can tell that some of the stuff im doing is fine because i can see my CSF strings on the menues and stuff, but this has dumbfounded me.

Have you actually got the things your faction specifies? This may be too obvious, but have you got a NewRegimeCommandCentre and NewRegimeDozer?

they are coded.. though where it asks for models it is left blank because i havent made them, is that a crash worthy problem?

I know if there is no model with the name, it doesn't crash; not sure if it requires a name. Does WorldBuilder pick anything up?

yea i got it now some of the units iv coded but not yet finished cause it, iv made a jet and no air field... stuff like that.
