Default Making soldiers sit on helicopters

I was thinking that a nice addition to my mod would be if I could make it so that you could see your soldiers on the side of your helicopter when they board them. Now I don't want a simple model change for the garrisoned condition state, that's what I would use if the thing I really want to try won't work.

Now what I really wanna try is to make it so that each soldier that boards the helo is represented, like in a firebase. I could use the firebase logic but there's a problem: no anims. You can't use a custom anim for it. My second option would be that you could somehow make it so you have something like a technical but more soldiers on it, but I don't know how to make them appear when one boards and so on.

I would like to hear your ideas and if anybody has ever tried this and if it's even possible.

make a seperate condition state that its garisoned and in that one make the same model but actualy put a guy in it... in gmax. Then configure the conditionstate to display the model with the guy when garrisoned and a normal one without the guy when its not.

The only thing I can think of in gen/zh that comes close to what you want is combat bike logic.I doubt it can be rigged to accept more than one rider at a time, but I dont know the ins and outs of it.

yes i did read your post but the only 2 options as i see it, the one i mentioned earlier or make the helo like the firebase and give all the unit types capable of sitting in the helo a new animation of sitting down on the condition that they are garrisoned inside the helo.

I seem to recall a thread about the firebase logic a while ago... I think the outcome was that the garrisoned units couldn't be lifted from the ground.

Don't quote me on that, it's just from memory...

Bah, that sucks. I really do hope that I won't have to use the garrisoned condition state, 'cos it will suck to see a full chopper with only one soldier.

The fire base code may work if you link the the bones to the main model.
You would have to do this before exporting to W3D.

I recall a thread like this ( I think it was for Halogen ) putting people on tanks, and the problem was that the people would stand on the tanks as opposed to sit. You could ask them if they found a fix for it.

Could make a new condition state and another model for the infantry so that they will be sitting.
