Default UV Mapping

Sorry if this is a repeat or you heard this before, but I am new to modding and have a few questions:

I have a mod that makes use of a new skin that is fairly close to an existing vehicle(CVBLUEBUS.W3D). I am able to use the wire frame from this item and reskin it with my new skin, however, I would like to tweek the wireframe a little to better match my skin. When I do, I cannot get the UVW Map and the editable mesh to match any more.

Is there a good way to regenerate the UV Map from the altered wireframe? and/or Is there a good way to adjust the UVW Map and mesh together to fit a skin?

I.e. I want to move the rear wheels forward and tweek the angle of the front and rear slightly, but when I do, the skin becomes distorted over the frame.

Any help would be great.

Also, to whom it may concern: in the Tutorial section, the links to all the images associated with the "practical UV Skinning" tutorial are broken.

Thanks, Very helpful. Fills in the gaps from other tutorials I have found.

Still had a lot of tweeking to do, but it is much easier when you understand the tool.
