.wnd problem

Hey there,

I really do doubt my sanity but maybe you can help me

I try to change the font color of the legal notice that appears once ZH is loaded, it's right underneath the ZH logo. Well I opened LegalPage.wnd and scrolled down to TEXT ="GUI:EACopyright" and found TEXTCOLOR = ENABLED: 6 43 204 255 which I changed to TEXTCOLOR = ENABLED: 255 0 0 255. So it's just red.

Well once I start the game nothing is changed however, I even tried to repack the WindowsZH.big file including my modded file, no success.

What is wrong here?

haha, same thing hapened to me. The problem is that you're modifying the wrong .wnd file. The file that you're looking for is called ShellGameLoadScreen.wnd.
Oh, and if WNDEdit wont open up th file, it's because of progressload bar. It doesn't open it for some reason... just make a copy of the file, delete the progressload thing, open it up in WNDEdit, change the color, then copy the changes to your original .wnd.

EA has many unused .wnd files in there also, there's a single player menu that resembles the LOTR one (buttons are aligned along the bottom of the screen). In other .wnds like OptionsMenu.WND, there's a ton of unused features like AA.

Sometimes I wonder whether EA actually cleaned anything up before ZH was shipped.
