Default A different kind of airstrike - can it be done?

Hi!
Recently I watched a friend play Act of War (the Atari game) and I wondered if it would be possible to recreate certain elements in C&C:ZH - more specifically its take on airstrikes.

An aircraft should enter the game from off screen and proceed towards a target zone, while still engaging targets of opportunity along the way. Once at the target zone, the aircraft should engage any hostiles there and then fly off screen, maintaining its course. If no hostiles are encountered, no weapons should be fired.

How can this be recreated in ZH? I have tried playing around with the A10 Strike code, as this weapon already displays a similar behaviour, but I'm afraid my understanding of exactly how it works is somewhat lacking. The A10s appear to be merely a transport for a strike that is set to hit one certain place on the ground.

First of all: Can this be done at all? Second, if so, which parts of the ini code should I examine? I'm not asking for ready-to-paste INI code, merely some clarification, but any advice would be helpful.

For those of you wondering how this airstrike thing would fit into my mod: Aircraft are purchased at a Radar Dome-like building, which has a limited capacity for controlling aircraft. The strike itself is called via a sidebar button.

I think its about the aim cursor off the a10 airstrike. That aim cursor is responsible for the attack(Target).....

hmm...copy the paradrop, make it drop 1 invisible dummy soldier with no parachute.Use the Helix logic to mount your 'guns' (dummy units that fire weapons) on the aircraft.That way the plane will move and fire at the same time (if that is your aim )

afaik, You could do the same with the A10 plane when i think of it

Blitzkrieg had a carpetbomb where the plane had machineguns on it, that attacked before it dropped its bombs while it was flying. I should work.

Thanks for the info - I have tried to make the construction suggested by ivan, but an assertion/serious error is currently keeping me from testing it.
Didn't want to make a post on that subject here though..

Look thru the ZH Spectre GunShip, it has turrets that are fireing, however they are controlled by the SW code...try to modify it

Another way is to double-check with BlitzII`s INI files...
