I'm pretty sure someone will come up with a converter or plugin of somesort eventually.

Hell, people still develop programs to Total Annihilation. :P

I suppose that if they finally get rid of Gmax and EA want to support modding they will allow or facilitate somekind of plugin or gamepack for 3d max. I suppose they use this prog so all we need its to wait and see make some pressure to get support now that Gmax is dead!

Just use the authorisation crack. If they're ditching us like that, they're not stopping us from doing what we want to do. I'm not getting on my knees for them, if they don't want to support us we crack their software. Seems fair.

I've gotten word that the BfME 2 SDK will include all the necessary exporters for 3dsMax

IF they are wise, they'd include the uncompiled code for the exporter, as on regular intervals, Autodesk changes its compiler, resulting in a non compatibility with existing plugins.
That way, the community itself can take care of the recompiling, instead of put the burden on their developers.

It's amazing isn't it. Every mod forum I've seen this posted on, people straight away start saying "Oh this is an excuse to go and pirate 3DS Max"... Don't any of you modders stop to think that pirating max would be of no use to you if you dont have the relevant gamepack plugin that works with Max?

I'm just astonished that when news like this breaks everyone's minds turn to crime...
