Default adding naval I take it no one knows since no posts?

Hello again folks, I have a question for you: I see all these pics of naval and ship yards, I believe one was deezire's?, I am curious if there is a tutorial or something of how to add this as an option?
Also, I am curious about adding a different type of resource besides just collecting supplies from the depot?
Like for instance on empire earth how they collect gold, iron, And Stone and such.
Can that be added into generals?
Oh and by the way this is for Zero Hour.

EDIT: Also i would like to know if you can add paratroopers? I am guessing you could, If you added the code and made the model for the parachute & your character.
I just want someone elses opinion.

Thanks for any help.
Much appreciated.

Anyways please tell me what you guys think of this?

I don't think that there can really be different resources like other RTS games. It's one of the hard coded stuff.

For adding paratroopers (assuming you did all the artwork) you could just copy the ranger and modify the code from there.

^ I would do my usual "long" post, but I'm so tired right now I can barely lift my head off the table (infact its on the table right now).

You then would need to change/create your own special power to add your new unit's name on the OCL.

Are you talking about naval yard structures, or the naval units (ie - battleship).

For ships you just need to make the locomotor support water as a drive-on-able type (and ofcourse art & code like a normal unit).

For docks and stuff I don't really know. I'm not a huge fan of naval stuff.

Sorry for going offtopic and I'm not meaning to have a go or anything, but please dont bother with the shrinking of text and centrally aligning. I have a slight dyslexia problem, I'm usually fine with it but when someone posts out of the ordinary like that I struggle to read it. I know everyone likes to have a touch of personalisation to their posts but that's what your sigs are for guys.

I once made a naval ship yard but it turned out to look a bit rubbish

I made a new warfactory and extended out the waypoint thing (where the new vehicle spawns) so the ships were spawned in water. Then you make a locomoter for the battleship or whatever you want to be able to make. Then do the command buttons and stuff.

It works but not very well....

BTW aircraft carriers are considered to be buildings so if you want that you will have to change the ' EditorSorting = STRUCTURE' part of it.

The "EditorSorting" tag doesn't affect the unit in-game in any way, as it is only used by WorldBuilder to determine which group to place it in when placing objects around a map.

Download 2test.zip and play the map in there to see a navalised map.ini for Zero Hour 1.04, with moving aircraft carriers, a floating shipyard building, swimming infantry who make ripples and splashes, 2 kinds of submarines, battleship, smart torpedos, and many kinds of boats
Beng's Naval Mod Map.ini for Zero Hour - Cncmaps Map Editing Forums

To get all this all you need is to copy the map.ini file across to your map folder and add in the supply prison building for each player to capture so he can build the naval technician who can build the shipyard. Read the readme.

The map.ini should work for single player mission maps. Make the starting height of the map about 30 so that you can make deep water in which the submarines can submerge. Otherwise they appear half out of the water.

No, all resources are basically turned into money. You can get money in many different ways (hacker, black market, oil derrick, supply crate drops, GLA cash bounty, black lotus cash hack, junk crates, etc etc), but it's all just money in the end.

There are already paratroopers in the game. Have you not seen them?
