Default I Am Back, Beginning AI, need basic Help:

Okay, I am back, I am on & off at this project, the Aki War Mod, and my personal life has been conflicting with this. I am trying to get a girl who I am overly obsessed with to go out with me. I have been trying to do this for a while now, for about a year. I am making progress, & now I am going to shower her with gifts, hopefully Casey will like them! :brill:

Well, dont think you wanna hear about her as much as I love her, just giving a reason of why you don't hear from me a lot, & then have like 10 topics made by me. Now, onto the mod of which has gone from the most ghetto graphics to personally the greatest CnC Generals graphics ever, Aki War Mod.

I will be soon putting up some in-game screenshots, such as the large crystal fields. I have also made a few new tanks & defence stuff, as well as working on an urban assault vehicle. One thing that I have added to make it more futuristic, is a laser bridge. This will appear mainly in maps with the United States, Canada, or Australia as the country you are fightning in.

Now, I want to begin AI, and I can code a mission crappily, but I want to have AI. The first thing I want them to be able to do is randomly chooze a side to be, & build an extra dozer, according to what sub-side they are. How do I make the AI randomly choose an upgrade to get, and build one dozer after the upgrade from their new HQ? Someone who codes a lot of stuff please help me out here.

P.S.:I am also adding infantry blood stains like in Blitz 2 when infantry die, BUT it will be a different & less laggy system, instead of creating an object, it is part of the model, but hidden until the soldier dies.

There is an element of randomness you can supposedly add to scripts, but for some reason it seems to be broken. There is a timer which you can set to expire after a random amount of seconds/frames, and you can use that to trigger upgrades or whatever. The problem is, that it isn't random. I tried this once, in an attempt to "shuffle" the in-game music (like in Winamp, where it picks from the playlist randomly), but for some reason the "random" timer always expired after the same number of frames...

Damn, anyway to make it random by hitting a button ingame at least? So the AI could trigger an upgrade that randomly gives you one of the three?

You could try the GLA technical code, and use it to randomly spawn 1 of 3 dummy objects which grant an upgrade on their creation.
