Default Making A Tutorial, Animated or Screen Capture....(IDEA)

Hi Guys,

i was wondering if anyone knew how to record screenshots (or screenmovies rather) so it would be possible to put together an animated or movie style tutorial for renx/gmax modeling (like the 3D Studio Max tutorials by Lyndan.com (spelling))

I had an idea to convert Killa's tank tutorial to this format to give newbies like me a better and easier understanding of how to break into the modelling world.

feedback, suggestions and ideas are welcome.

thanks!

you can look at blender's video tutorial on how to make a video tutorial (pretty weird right?). FYI, Blender is a free open-sourced 3d modeller (like 3dsm/gmax). I'm pretty sure you could easily just not use blender i just use *max instead.

I would do so myself, but school work is top priority.

As another alternative, you can make a flash tutorial using Debugmode's Wink which is a free flash tutorial creation software.

Thats a great idea! I too would suggest Flash for doing this - its quick, compact and not too taxing on the browser.

It would be awesome if more people did tutorials like this.

A flash tutorial would be superb - if you do it stage by stage with the ability to flick between stages and replay bits and pieces, you're on to a winner.

thank's for the suggestions guys. I`ll take them under consideration.

If anyone would be willing to help with making these tutorials and hosting, it would be greatly appreciated and may benefit the community as a whole!

Sounds a facinating idea.
I would offer my help, but I'm about to jet off to Kenya for 6 weeks. However if you got it done by the time I get back, I'd be happy to host it at killasmods, if not done I'll help in any way I can.
