Primarily people use this method to make locomotor switches become possible, but besides this another positive effect is that you can change the WeaponSet, Art and CommandSet of your object.
So this will work like the GLA CombatBike which can be manned with different infantry. In this case the infantry riders are just dummy objects who will trigger the events, and nothing more. You won't notice them ingame. But you'll get your desired effects.
