Default Battlefield Commander

Welcome to Battlefield Commander.

This is a mod for Generals Zero Hour that plans to recreate Battlefield 2 in Zero Hour, but not as a standard RTS, this will do it in a way to keep with the original feel of BF2, where you will play as the commander of a small number of infantry to capture all of the area.

In this mod we plan on pushing Zero Hour to its limits to ensure we can do most of the things that we love and hate in Battlefield 2. This mod will involve USMC, PLA and MEC as normally in Battlefield 2, but we are also putting Europe as a fourth team.

So, to launch this mod, we are showing 2 vehicles and 1 weapon to be featured in this mod, both as renders and in-game screenshots.

If you wish to view these models in-game, check out the vehicles and weaponry pages of our site.

Well, you'd be supprised how much we have done, coded tones, you see, this mod has been going for about 3 months, we just didn't tell anyone, and instead of doing graphics first like most mods, we started by coding, which means a lot of the coding is done and ready for the graphics.

Nice, IHM. It's always best to work on it secretly so you won't have people complaining: "is it done yet?" since they won't know it is even in the works.

As a rule of thumb, with talented team consisting of 1 coder, 1 modeler and 1 skinner, you should count on 1 model completed per week on average...

The reason why so little mods get finalised is because people neglect to do some simple math and let their wild dreams get the upperhand....

As far as the workload distribution, my experience is that texturing is the most time consuming element, followed by modeling, rigging and coding.
To give you some perspective, having the unit's code done is about 15-20% of the work....

Well, the hardest part of this project will be mapping, because the maps in BF2 are so detailed.

The team so far is

Me - Coding/Scripting/Mapping
WarAddict - Coding/Mapping
Soviet_Deso - Modeling/Texturing
Judoka - Prop Modeling/Texturing
