Default Just a tool idea for "Simple" modding

Hi all.
My first post, so i hope it's not wasted...

Is there a tool / can someone possibly create a tool, whereby a bored (and lazy recently) player can "Create your own army"... By usiong simply the default Units/Buildings/Powers/etc in the game.

What do i mean?
Lets say i want to play as a General with Lazer defense patriots, have stealth commanches, Aurora Alphas, Mammoth Tanks, This bararcks... that warfactory... those supply gatherers........ (i think you get the idea).

I came up with the idea, because i modded the bossgeneral (Leeang) for myself and a few friends... Must add i'm not good at it :S

Now my friends all want to try out their own custom armies... But TRUST me: they dont have the skill or patience to mod for themselves; and i dont have the patience or energy to do so for them either.

If there was a lil easy to use program.... Click your general... Select your buildings... select your units.... select your sciences/powers...

Thanks for the patience, adn keep up the good one's.
Thanx a million DeeZire!

Ciao

So it's more like a custom fraction that has various units, and buildings from one side all in one?

Nope I don't think that exists. Nor would it be a walk in the park to make a program that does it.

It would be rather usefull.
For a total conversion, one would only need to create models, skin them, write some AI, script the behaviours...

Then select the units/buildings etc and the side is created.

Got the idea, coz when i make my "Custom" army, the biggest chore of em all is changing the faction and prerequisites etc. in the CustomGeneral.ini.

It would greatly speed up the last portion of a TC mod.
But if it dont exist, then thanx anyway for the reply.

Much appreciated.

So the modder would still have to do everything.

Well, i didn't want the suggestion to seem too farfetched...
I remember a little tool for Red Alert... (i think it was Red Alert)
The tool put everything together for you. All that the modder had to do was create custom models and skins (if he wanted them) and the tool did everything else.

But with the complexity of RA vs the complexity of ZH... i dont think such an app would even be possible. The variables are just too many. There is too much involved in even a single unit to effectively create by application.

In another light... look at it this way: For the serious modder, who has already designed and scripted 200 units and buildings etc, it may become tiresome completing the last bit of scripting... ie: create a WhateverGeneral File.

I suppose my suggestion is actually just that. A file for making it easier to create a XXXXXGeneral.ini and CommandSet.ini file from scratch, just quicker than usual.

:tard: Maybe it was just a dumb idea... :tard:

You mean RedEdit 98 (and SunEdit 2K for TS)

Yeah! Those!

But its too much of an enormity to request such a program for ZH.

I have to admit that is a cool idea... but for total conversions that wouldnt means anything [seeing as total conversions usually dont use the ingame units and structures]... so yes, if you want to make a mini mod, you can use that tool i suppose, but if you want to make a mod with anything new, you would proally have to stick to manual programming... i think the closest thing to easy you can get, wheunis, is TIBED... i dont know the exact website but i used to have it...its pretty simple, but still requires some manual work... it also cant do EVERYTHING but it does a lot

Modding is easy. Just give them the URL of a tutorial
If they can't do it its hardluck because simple army creating without any new modeled units is the easiest way of modding you can get

its only .ini editing
