Default Help with upgrade???

im adding an upgrade to my mod and the weapon, which i want to ONLY be avalible after the upgrade is usable before. how do i fix this??

Ok, serious answer:

What kind of weapon are you talking about? Talk specific, or else we're unable to help.

Normally, you can do this, but the way you do varies from the type of thing you refer to (e.g. SuperWeapon, SpecialPower, weapon for a unit/building). Also, check the current ini's and try to match similar units/weapons that use the same concept.

In the case of regular weapons, you can do it yourself, seeing as there are plenty of examples to go by.

In case of SuperWeapons, you'll have to wait until I get my ass to finish testing the new code I put in to enable new SWs after purchase of an upgrade...(which will be soon though..)

its for my mod that puts the cruise missile on the battleship. its a totally new weapon. i think i figured it out but im not sure and will still prob need some help

In that case, try to add a behavior to the battleship that looks something like this:

Behavior=WeaponSetUpgrade ModuleTag_XX
TriggeredBy = [insert the upgrade name:e.g. Upgrade_TomahawkLaunch]
End
It is only similar to that. For full details, check existing units that only get a certain weapon after an upgrade...hint: check the Humvee's TOW missile upgrade (check in factionunit.ini for the behavior stuff and sorts)...

can the ModuleTag_XX number be any that already isnt used by that unit???

i got it working. i released the next beta of the mod. its not the final because i want to have a new ship model but i dont know how to do it and no one wants to help

Dude, just dowload some tutorials and start messing around. No one just picks up 3d modeling and knows how to do everything instantly.

Making a ship would be easy.

its not that simple. i have a 56k modem and connect at 21.6 kbps!! it take a good 2-3 hours to do a 5 meg download!!!!!!!!!! and my comp isnt very fast. i dont have a job yet. Im looking though. and most of the stuff you need costs money.

Renx = Free
paint program = Free

That is all you need. Granted it is about 100+ megs of downloads, but it can be done over dial-up. Or you could find someone (a friend) to download it for you.

How are you going to make mods if you can't make anything new?
