Default How to change weapon if infantry is in or out a vehicle

Is it possible to make an Infantry use PRIMARY weapon if not in a vehicle and SECONDARY if they are? If then how

Can't think of a way to do this with infantry alone. You might want to try this:

Have your infantry use just one weapon, PRIMARY.

Give your vehicle(s) a special TransportContain module with "ArmedRidersChangeMyWeaponSet" and add a new WeaponSet with the weapon you wanted the infantry to use. Add some fire bones that show where the "infantry" shoots out of the vehicle.

Check the Chinese Listening Outpost for that code. It's all in there.

I can't think of a way to do that. You can only change the vehicle's weapon like 231222 said, or by using the GLA combat bike method. You cannot change the infantry's own weapon (except manually using Switch weapon command buttons like for the scud launcher, ranger, and nuke cannon).

See however the interesting case of the ranger in a humvee with the humvee having a scout drone which is within distance 20 of a target.

The Scout drone SlavedUpdate Module has
Code:
DistToTargetToGrantRangeBonus = 20 ;How close I have to be to the master's target in order to grant master a range bonus.
The Humvee's TransportContain module doesn't, but should have a line saying
WeaponBonusPassedToPassengers = Yes

If it did, then the rangers inside would get 200% range, damage, and rate of fire, on their rifles. See the ranger's rifle bonuses in Weapon.ini.
