Default Air-to-Ground Weapons

I have a question here for the people in the know:

I'm currently working on a aircraft unit that needs to be able to employ its primary weapon - a light machinegun - in a way simlar to the A10's strafing run. The problem is that the unit will fire at the target as it approaches, but will then circle endlessly above it, never managing to line up and fire off any of its remaining rounds. Does anyone perhaps have any ideas and/or a solution?

Thanks in advance.

You might want to check out the minimum rage to attack, could be set to low.

The weapon has no minimum range - should it have one?

possable that you forgot to put a turret pitch in the AI update.
The problem with your aircraft is that it can't get it's gun at the right angle, so it just circles around.

Eather put a min range on the weapon, so it fires it, turns and moves to get it in range again.
Or change/add the min/max pitch settings the of the gun.

The minimum range worked, thanks - it lines up the shot, fires off a few bursts, and then circles - properly - to line up for a new strafing run. The turret pitch idea could give some strange results, no? A plane flying horizontally and firing its machinegun straight off along the vertical axis!

See also the JetAiUpdate module in AmericaVehicleComanche, EA has put some useful comments there.
