Default skin problem

Hi,
I made a tank and skinmapped it, but now I want to detach my object into the 3 parts(chassis, bevel, Turret), but the new detached objects don't have the unrwap UVW modifier.-->the skin doesn't fit anymore. How can I solve this problem?

try using the map modifier to fit the skin, otherwise reskin it.

I always select the piece and use the select face value. Then do a planar map each face or series of faces.

May not be the right way, but it gets the job done.

Yes, they need to be greyscale. The game auto-colors anything named Housecolor on the model.

It can be a little odd if the texture has color (I know this from a mistake I made, grin)

you can collapse the modifier tree on the meshed, and them seperate as you wish ... no need to modify anything ...

tho this way, you can no longer alter the UVW Mapping afterwards (youll have to redo them tho)
