Default Mod under construction

Hey guys, new to the forum. For that matter, new to editing.

So I'm getting my feet wet with RenX. Very difficult to use. Anyways, I get the basics like where files are, which need to be edited etc etc. I try reading as many tutorials as possible, but I can never seem to find the one specifically for my needs.

The mod I'm trying to make is a new general for the USA... the Special Forces General. My largest hurtle right now is changing the way infantry walk. I also need some advice and tutorials on editing vehicles. Is there anyone here who is willing to correspond with me to walk me through it a bit? Or at least point me in the right direction?

This mod actually isn't that big, it focuses mostly on infantry. Once I have the animation down, it's just going to consist of different skins and weapons.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I have a good link for this, but can't post it.

Look up Gmax and RenX links on cncmaps.

OT: Damn you and your link making abilities. *shakes fist*

Handy tip! Start small! Making your own textures is difficult.

Right on, I appreciate the help so far.

Gee Beng, google search... really? I had no idea. I wouldn't be starting a thread if I hadn't googled it already. I've already seen those tuts. The problem with the CNCLabs one is he doesn't actually show you how to animate the infantry and I have found Gmax tuts on animation but it's usually on vehicles and other things with simple animations. I'm trying to find an infantry specific one.

Nah, making textures is easy, I've already done several. I'm somewhat of a wiz when it comes to photoshop.

I actually am starting small. I have several new infantry types, all with specific rolls. They're all re-textured, slightly re-modeled rangers and Col. Burtons. Now I just need to finish the animations, add cameos and all the small things.

After animations, the second largest thing that I'm having trouble with is this.

I grab a rocket buggy and import it to RenX, then I grab a Humvee and import it into RenX. All I want to do is remove the rocket launchers from the buggy and replace them with the gun and TOW launcher. The modeling is done, I've removed the launchers and put on the HMMWV weapons, I just don't know where to go from there. I just need some advice on this, kinda point me in the right direction in terms of getting the muzzles flashes to be in the right place and such.

Your help is greatly appreciated thus far.

damn sorry for double posting.... didn't see an edit button(?). I've hit a snag. I've done this before several times but now all of a sudden it's not working. I'm trying to bind the ranger model to the ranger running animation skeleton. So I import both, I delete the ranger skeleton and that box thingy, create a WWSkin, add all bones except the one called "WWSkin01" then use the bind to spacewarp tool and drag it from the model to the WWSkin object. Then select all vertices and hit auto-link. This used to work all the time, now it bind it but the model is all warp and mutilated... whats up?

Maybe some vertices bound to wrong bone. Try to select only those vertices for a bone and bind it to that bone. Like select the vertices around the hand and bine it to the hand bone etc.
