Default Hovering Plane?

hey,
for World Crisis we want the planes to beable to lift off of the ground and beable to everything normal from there, but is it possible to make a locomoter first that allows it to rise from the spot it is at, and then it changes to a normal locomoter that allows it to fly normal? thnx

Well, if you take a look at the Chinook, you'll notice that it uses a hover locomotor with a prefered height which it'll use to fly at.

It also uses a special Taxxiing locomotor to allow it to lift upwards upon creation and to get down to the ground when unloading.

To make your plane hover like a chopper, give it a normal hover locomotor (chinook one should work fine for tests) and a taxiing locomotor to make it go up when you create it (I think it might also be used to reload).

That should at least work for testing purposes. Perhaps it may even be everything you need. Otherwise, you might get what you want by a little bit of editing...

This actually works really well, but there's also a behaviour bit for jets like the raptor. (ie NeedsRunway = Yes), I turned this off but I haven't tried leaving it on. You're really just creating a helicopter that looks like a plane.

Okay I dont know alot of stuff but is the code that different between RA2 adn Generals? If it is not could you look at the RA2 code for the harries possible and see how it might in turn be morphed or translated into Generals if there is not a direct transfer?

Only an idea.

Personnaly my opinion is that a hover plane is a bad idea and if you want it to come out lifting from the ground make it produced at helipad under KindOf=

Ok its not a bad idea its just a heli is more logical unless you give the plane boosters on the model with animation for it leaving the heli pad with like flames coming from the boosters. I guess i just meant you would have to have the right model and animations for it to work and look good

*I do have one more question : how can I make something, when the plane is just stationary sitting on launchpad maybe yu could make the plane model have its booster facing sideways? and then when it rises and is flying it has it facing down?
thnx*
