Button problem
Hello all,
I've followed the tutorial on adding new button images. Made a new image in 24bit, uncompressed tga in PaintShopPro. Added it to a 512x512 tga with the appropriate coordinates(sp?). Added that info into a texture ini file. Put in the correct folders as instructed. All exactly as detailed in tutorial. Ok, the problem is when I run the game, the button appears as a blank in a purplish color. Any others had this problem? Any idea of what I did wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Also, the button I'm trying to replace is the fuel air bomb on the generals promotion bar. When I change the button ini file on daisycutter, it affects the command center button and shortuct button and not the promotion button. I changed the entry on the daisycutter command set, not the command center command set. Is there another entry that affects the promotion button? I'm going back in to search for another entry regardless, but again, any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

The purchase science button and the trigger button are two different buttons, changing one won't affect the other and vice versa, you need to find the purchase science button as well

Thanks, I've checked my entries and they are done as he says. I do feel my icon isn't showing because of it being invisable, just not sure why unless the tga I created via PSP isn't exactly like the inhouse Generals ones. I'm going to study some more on the info your link provided and my ini files to make sure I didn't overlook anything. Thanks again.

Yep, missed that one! That was the answer to getting it to change! Now all i got to do is make it not be invisable. Thanks again both of you!
I'll be sure to post whatever I figure out on it in case someone else has the same problem.

Well, damn! I figured out why it wasn't showing correctly. For some reason I was thinking the art dir went in the data dir. DUH! NOT! My bad! It's showing correctly now. DZ's tutorial is dead on! Thanks DZ, Detail, & Shadow!
Among various other tweaks and such to units, i've enabled the carpet bomb, but due to the limitations of only 1 spot on the 5 star section of the promotion bar, I only had the choice of a 3 star spot. To me it seemed too powerful for that area so I went another route. I've got it tied into the daisycutter trigger and reclassified as a B52 Bomber Specialweapon. My new button image and text description is of a B52 Bomber. When it is selected after 5 star promotion, it gives both the carpetbomb and daisycutter weapons. Both selectable independently from either the command center or the shortcut sidebar. Seems like alot of work, I know, but I play skirmish alot, and really just enjoy customizing these games.
Later friends!
