Well I was never one who was into Dark vs light, good vs evil, and so on. So I assume like anyone it might be fun to take a basic dwarf hero model, reskin it, add new animations and make a dwarven infantry or crossbowmen out of it.

I think that this time round it will be more of a team "TOGETHER" making one new faction. Which would actually be more of a challenge. Instead of 50+ mods duplicating everything from scratch and no one finishing shit, when a team make a faction, it will be standard from that point. No sense reinventing the wheel.

So it makes sense to coordinate now (as much as possible) who wants to work on what. It all starts with finding out who wants to collaborate here to start with. I hope the days of the same 6 guys on one team trying to do it all, only to find 2 years later the next game came out.

We need 20 people, working in cells, to finalize one aspect of thier job. if we come to a consensus that we will add (theoretically) 3 factions than we need to stick together as a team and finish it. Not 2 guys on this mod, 5 on that one, 8 there. And still very few get completed to our own expectations.

I would suggest we recruit NOW for an expansion pack of our own. Realistic goals of course. Someone like Smurfbiscuit (who has that experience), take charge set up a 20 person team assign goals (brainstorm here first cause game isn't here yet) and not sucumb to the next generation Energy Vs 57.9, Blitz vs 78.5, ProGen 1000, and so on. But definatley congradulations to sharp people who did release great mods.

Let's look to a new thread that we can intro ourselves and state what we can do and rank yourself honestly each catagory:

Coding
2d imaging/texturizer
modeling
Funky Infantry WarpSkin or whatever
Website design/management
Mappers
Concept designer

and so on, make them up as you go along. ~Hostile

I agree with u Hostile!

There would have been more high quality mods, if the coordination between the "heads" of the community had been better!

But I can't speak for others, they may have their reasons, why they didn't want to share the fame with other modders!
Indeed I can understand that mentality.

I have never done heavy modding, until I joined RotR!!
And I won't leave this mod until it is working to my perception!
Since I am the main coder of this mod, I can earn much more respect in the community, than I would have as a part of a bigger modding team. Especially if this modding team would consist of guys like Deezire or ImmoMan.
They have done nearly every possible tweak to Generals, so how should one like me compete with them?? Indeed one of the first mods I've played was made by Dee (for YR, but I can't remember the name currently).
So it isn't too suprising, that the most modders try to do their own stuff!

But when our mod is finished, I would have no objections to join a mod for BFME (if I like the idea , of course)!
