Kelso, my suggestion would be that everyone uses the exact same (single) program and that everyone install it (if their version is newer). And such a program could be made to support launching a mod directly from a shortcut, thus providing the best of both worlds: either direct launching, or a list of mods if the program is run 'normally'. And if everyone were to adhere to certain standards... that would make life easier.

More bad news. -preferLocalFiles does not work with some if not all .ini files.

I wonder if they'll even bother to fix that.

It does work for some inis atleast for me. I edited gandalf.ini and it worked in game with that switch. I havent tested it with other ini files.

It doesn't appear to work with gamedata.ini, which is a rather important one for it to use.
