Default The Living Map

The living map is simply a very high polygon (51,000) W3D model. The rest of the logic is controlled by livingmap.ini. That can be found in the INI's already available elsewhere. You can download the model here.

That's awesome, it gives people the opportunity to REALLY make something of it. I know that I already intend to totally screw it into something entirely different

Yes, textures would be nice.

And why do I only see castles? No trees? Mountains?

it has 47 textures lol

there are mountains...open it in gmax/3dmax rather than w3dviewer

Trees would be added along with other features when the map is rendered. The living map is only static stuff -ie the landscape and major structures

Alright, I'm moving this to a new location. Everything can be found at http://bfme.the-mastermind.net/ Textures are in one RAR file, the map is in the other. I believe I got all the textures in a format that W3D viewer will use. It does do some odd things though, so I recommend not having the exlava texture in the samedirectory, as that ruins most of the map.

Thats awesome.

How hard/easy does it seem to make a new one?

My guess is that you would just be able to simply make a new model representing whatever land mass you wanted and then use the ini's to link certain parts of it to certain player maps. (i'm assuming that's how its set up anyway)

That is what it appears to be. I still haven't looked into all the details of its implementation.
