Default Changing INI files

I need help lol. I'm not a moder myself and am therefore not particularly knowledgeable about what I'm asking. I normally don't mess with this stuff but the command point cap (population limit) in Battle for Middle Earth's skirmish mode is killing the game for me. It's so low it's...well it's stupid. I wanna know how to change the INI file's paramters concerning the command point limit. It states very clearly in the file the numbers and I figure all I have to do is change them and save the file. I did something similar to get all black ships for the original Homeworld. In any case, any help from anyone would be greatly appriciated. If you need more information about the file's specifics I will get them to you. Thanks in advance

I'd make one very large recommendation about that tutorial though. DON'T delete ini.big. Instead, right click the shortcut you use for BFME, and add -preferLocalFiles in the Target box, and it will use your modded INI files instead, and you can still always play with the normal game if you create another shortcut.

Code:
  ;;; COMMAND POINTS FOR SOLO PLAY AI ;;;
  GoodCommandPointsAI = 500
  EvilCommandPointsAI = 500

  ;;; COMMAND POINTS FOR MULTIPLAY ;;;
  GoodCommandPointsMP2 = 500 		; 2 players
  EvilCommandPointsMP2 = 500

  GoodCommandPointsMP3 = 500 			; 3 players
  EvilCommandPointsMP3 = 500

  GoodCommandPointsMP4 = 500 			; 4 players
  EvilCommandPointsMP4 = 500

  GoodCommandPointsMP56 = 500 		; 5-6 players
  EvilCommandPointsMP56 = 500

  GoodCommandPointsMP78 = 500 		; 7-8 players
  EvilCommandPointsMP78 = 500

It doesn't work.

I just tried using -preferLocalFiles, and it didn't seem to have any effect. Are we sure that it's actually working in the public build? Moving INI.big worked fine though. Any word on how exactly to use the -mod command? We no longer have the C&C Generals Data directory in My Docs to tell us where to put things.

Weird. I don't know what I did then. I just used the normal directory structure, and once I ran the game, nothing had changed. Once I moved ini.big though, it worked.

No, it doesn't.

I can affirm this. I am trying -preferLocalFiles and it most definitely does not work.

Are you using the actual final game or some kind of beta?
