Default Modeling question?

Seeing as we have to use the assets from asset.dat.

(1) If we reskin a unit using the same name as a skin that is on the list will it work? If we use skins arleardy there to reskin?

(2) If above is true, than could we use models of the same name as long as they are listed in the assets?

(3) If two is not true than can we at least scale the models? We can than at least use civilian buildings and such.

Thanks for any reply...

1) sux,
2) allows some hope, at least we can reskin existing.
3) I forgot about the code scale part. Seeing I never used that in generals I always modeled it scaled. Then I could scale just along certain axis.

My last issue is then we are sorta screwed as we cannot even add bones to even existing models than. What happens if you take an existing model, do absolutely nothing, than but resave it and reinsert into the game. Than again geometry doesn't get exported with the bone...

I can I can take the time to and I will, just don't want to have to reinvent the wheel. So I can save my time if some people have already tried.

I have tried re-exporting existing models. Doesn't work. It looks like EA did some kind of adjustment/change to the w3d file that causes our versions to not appear correctly. And of course its way too much to ask for them to release a RenX patch.
