Default ZH -> BFME

Apologies if this has already been inquired, but how difficult is it to convert a mod from ZH to BFME from a coding perspective? One would assume the structure of the code would be similar, but not having yet played the game I am unsure what is and is not available - for example, things taken for granted like the implentation of gas.

Any comments?

Yeah I have a comment. Try reading the other threads in this forum first. Playing the game might help too.

I'd rather not purchase the game without knowing first whether its practical to mod - although having read another thread it would sound not ( something regarding asset.dat decoding ).

It's a shame this place has become so hostile.

It's not hostile, sorry about that. It's just that some other poster (no names) just opened 9 new threads yesterday, all with questions which were already answered.

So don't be offended, it probably was not directed at you. The asset.dat issue is being worked on, you can wait and see how it turns out before you buy the game, though I must say it is a really good game (single-player anyway).

Converting from ZH to BFME is not an easy task. They operate on different gamestyles, base building or point capture, one is based for tank/aircraft combat (ZH), the other for infantry/calvalry combat (BFME). Before choosing which game to mod I would you set out exactly what you want to achieve. If your looking for magic, better graphics, infantry based look at BFME, if your looking for the traditional tanks and aircraft, go with ZH.
