I think the game really prefers nVidia. I have P4 2.4 GHz, 512 Ram, and a GeForce 6800 and the game is completely lag free on all high when I am playing alone. But, going online, even to play against a friend, who lives 1 street down from me, lags to hell.

Well your lagging in that instance is because of your or your friend's connection.

They should have included a Direct IP connect option too.

Sorry to resurrect an old topic, over a year ago, but I have problems playing on LAN, lag is really bad for my friend mainly. Our specs are:

Me (Host)
1.5Ghz
512MB RAM
Geforce 5200 256 MB Graphics

Friend (Client)
2.8Ghz
248MB RAM
Intel Extreme 64MB Integrated Graphics

My game runs ok, but my friend has major issues, mainly when using maps with castles. Its a big shame because its a great game, but is ruined by bad performance. C&C Generals runs great for both of us.

@dragon_uk20002

1024mb ram wouldnt hurt both of you.
make your friend buy a decent videocard as well anything intergrated into a motherboard kills perfomance

Thx for reply, well recently my friend purchased new RAM, our specs are now at:

Me
1.5Ghz
512MB RAM
Geforce 5200 256 MB Graphics

Friend
2.8Ghz
760MB RAM
Intel Extreme 64MB Integrated Graphics

My friend is now able to run the game fine and has taken over the role of hosting, BUT now I have MAJOR lag, wheras before as the host I had none. it seems that whoever is the host doesnt get much lag, but me as the client, its really bad. But how can this be? When my game ran perfect before as the host?

If I was to purchase new RAM, so I have 1024 would that improve things alot? Or would I need a new processor also?
