No wonder my game is slow
Now my PC is no super computer but its certaily high end but BFME knocks the hell out of my comp and really slows it down on even the normal settings, so i looked at some W3D files, can you believe the Fellbeast itself has a 2000 polycount!!
I think im gonna stick to ZH modding from now on, not because the game is dull cos it certainly isnt but the more i look at modding this new game the more it confuses me.

2000 polygons isn't really that much. Every single unit in Dawn of War has that, and I believe Rome Total War gets close to that too (and it usually has 5000 units on field)...

That is weird then, cos Dawn of War runs hella smooth on my comp at full settings. must just be BFME on my PC.

The Dawn Of War engine isn't SAGE and seems much better at handling higher poly models.
I would have to agree that in general my system is much smoother running DOW than BFME. I have a 3Ghz CPU and ATI X800 Pro 256mb, but BFME seems very slow sometimes.
Also MP nearly always lags. DOW never lags.

Agreed. The SAGE engine is not very well optimized. Especially when it comes to scripts... :O

I have a P4 2.0ghz, 1024MB DDR-2100, TI4600 AGP 8x 128MB, and I run BFME on all high settings with absoluteley no problems. I don't know what is wrong with your computers. All I can say is that NVIDIA and Intel work well together.

I had the feeling that they had optimised the game for NVIDIA cards, I've spoken with a few m8's running the game on slower machines than mine with less older NVIDIA cards and all seem to work better.
Pity...If I were ATI I would consider taking action against developers like EA as it sends out a clear message.
If you want to play games, buy an NVIDIA card.

But a lot of developers are doing the same things. Its being argued that Valve did this in favor of ATI and ID was going ATI, but then switched to NVidia (or vice versa??). Its just the way the coperate side works I guess.

Any smart gamemaker will build the game well for all types of gfx cards, not just enhance it for one, BFME works everything on max with no lag , i have Radeon 9600xt.

Not if their being offered a deal. It also takes a lot of time and resources (which both equal lots of money) to truly do this.
Lag refers to an internet connection and the delay between sending and receiving packets. This has absolutely no relevance.
I have a Radeon 9800pro, which is a better card and I run everything at max, but the game is definetly not as fast as it should be. And DoW runs better with much more demanding graphics.
