So I know that -preferLocalFiles doesn't make the game look at a modified gamedata.ini file in the folders. But it seems to me that -mod doesn't make them game look at a modified gamedata.ini even though it is in a .big file. Am I correct on this? Is the only way to get the game to read a new gamedata.ini to either delete or overwrite the old one?
To be honest, why even make the changes in the gamedata ini file. I make the raw change in the unit. I define the actual number right in the build cost and time there in the object file.
I'm guessing (and DeeZire can either confirm or deny) that it's a redundant file? Some of it is used.. but perhaps the majority may well be hardcoded. Think like the campaign.ini file..
