Default 1.02 is causing 1 big issue

So after updating to 1.02 I continued to work on Rise of Rome. Only problem is that now about 10 minutes into the game, all my structures and units die and i lose. I've heard of people having this issue before but I searched the forums and couldn't find a solution. Any ideas?

I heard its a special anti-hacking feature in the game that "detonates" randomly if your running a crack version. I'm not sure if this is true, but from my experiences it is, I run the real cd now and it works fine. It was an issue before 1.02 but they may have "improved" it or something. Anway, that is what it sounds like, but if you're running a clean version then I'm not sure.

As Gondolin says, it's an anti-hacking feature. I had this back before the patches and it was easily rectified by reinstalling the game. If you keep all your edited files separate and add them back in afterwards it should all work.

The reinstall worked. Phew, I was about to have a heart attack. I really wish EA would just append lotr.csf instead of giving us new ones every patch, its really a pain to transfer new strings over to it everytime.

Anyone found a way to generate a .str file and try using that?

Doesn't CSF editor allow you to save as a string file?

It'd be awesome if EA could allow for a modded lotr.csf file that works like the asset.dat. Anything changed gets precedence over originals and anything new gets added when the game launches.

If support for .str is there, it would be the best choice for TC's. It allows you to ignore the new CSF, as your mod probably won't use it anyway.

.Str works fine in the data folder. I made one from the csf file with csfedit and a bit of hex editing.

this is how: http://forums.revora.net/index.php?showtopic=17952#

Hope it helps.
