Default Odd Errormessage on starting a mod

So I started tweaking some things again and while I was trying to test them out via the -mod switch I get this error message...

First of all, I did not touch the Elven Warriors at all. Then I was figuring, that I messed something else up in the weapon.ini and replaced it with the original file. Same result.

This is the code it refers to:

Code:
DamageNugget ; A basic Nugget that just does damage
		Damage        = ROHAN_ELVEN_MELEE_DAMAGE_UPGRADE
		Radius        = 0.0
		DelayTime     = 0
		DamageType    = SPECIALIST
		DamageFXType  = SWORD_SLASH
		DeathType     = NORMAL
		RequiredUpgradeNames      = Upgrade_RohanForgedBlades
	End
and these the according entries in the gamedata.ini:

Code:
#define ROHAN_ELVEN_RANGE                            400
#define ROHAN_ELVEN_DAMAGE                            30 ;40
#define ROHAN_ELVEN_FIRE_UPGRADE_DAMAGE               30 ;40
#define ROHAN_ELVEN_FIRE_UPGRADE_DAMAGE_FLAME         15 ;20
#define ROHAN_ELVEN_MELEE_DAMAGE 30 ;was not used in BFME...added to weapon for patch 1.02
#define ROHAN_ELVEN_MELEE_DAMAGE_UPGRADE              60
I really canīt see what I am missing here and would be glad if someone could point me into the right direction.

Hm, that is really weird. If I were you, I would just plunk 60 in that line instead of the macro and let it be.

Well, of course, I tried that, but the error message went away all of a sudden, changing values wasnīt the point. It just disappeared, only to be replaced by another message like that, referring to a ModuleTag_01 in pippin.ini, which I did not change either.

But now for the really funny part. I resigned from trying in the morning then and left all like it was. The computer was running the whole day, no restarts. Now I come back to post a new screenie, and when firing the shortcut for the mod, guess what, it runs ! :tard:

So something makes me think, that thereīs some cache for the game on startup that could not handle all my retries to start the mod in a short sequence, i.e. it has not been cleared properly and still included old error handling code...

Can someone second that ?

I had the same problem.
try this if you extracted a .big file to the "data"-folder:
-check if you copied any file (for backup reason or what ever..) delete or remove it from b4me folder.
- make sure your ini-folder is not write protected.

those were the steps i made and it worked fine.

Depends on your system, the SAGE engine is notorious for dumping its RAM after you close the game - it usually takes some time. I often found similar errors when I made a small change, start the game, exit quickly and start it again.

As a result, I normally do lots of small tweaks through map.ini files then transfer them to the main INI files when I know they are working right.
