Default Tiberian Sun Maps

This is the wrong forum but it seems only moderators can start a new thread at the TS forum.

Now that RA2MG no longer exists, am sick of it and I have some spare time I decided to install TS, note that I was introduced to C&C by RA2.
I bought TS about a year ago but never made myself comfortable with the game until now.
Now that I'm beginning to 'learn' the game I can understand what everybody was talking about when it comes to TS: Destroyable Cliffs, Tunnels (ofcourse), Train Tracks and Trains, Mutant Hijacker, 3 different [TIBTRE] in TS (so they just left them in RA2 but there's no difference between 'm ?), Subteranian Units, Ground Level changes when heavy explosions did take place and more cool features! why on earth didn't "they" add some of those features in RA2 ?!!

Anyway,
I installed the Map Editor 'Final Sun' and found the Marble.mix file to build in Frame-Work Mode, I'm fooling arround a bit with all that's in there but before I begin to create more complex and detailed Maps I'd like to know if:
- there are still enough people that actually are busy with playing/mapping/modding TS
- anybody can point me to some serious fansites concerning Tiberian Sun.
- it's necesary to install the expansion 'FireStorm' ? it's hard to find overhere, it only comes with a full version.... a Web Store maybe ?

Thanks for your time,

Mir4dor.

The best authority for TS maps that I know of is RVMECH.

Firestorm... hmm... if you can't find it then you could try buying it online (you could buy it thru this site and give DZ a few pennies in the process )

Aah ok, I found those RVMech maps, played on one of those but it's too bad that the game crashed.
Maybe I 'need' Fire Storm in order to get things working.

As I was planning to buy it through this site I found that:

we are currently unable to offer this item. It may be out of stock at the manufacturer. If you would like to purchase this item, we recommend that you occasionally check this page to see if it has become available.
Seems that I'll have to search elsewhere.....

Most, if not all my TS stuff needs Firestorm. Some of them were for TS only. You need to patch up though. I think the patch is still available from the westwood ftp site. There are still quite a few of us that make maps for and play TS. We hang out at the forums that Matze set up for us. You can get there by going here http://forum.wagnerma.de/

so matze is still around ey... what exactly did westwood(or EA?) do to him? silence him by paying him a lump sum just to get FA under their control?

He can only release new FA versions through EA AFAIK, which means NO new FA versions and thus no fixes to the existing limitations (such as lack of tunnel support, crippled overlay lists, lack of YR script actions...etc.). He has released a new version of FS and with DJBREIT's contribution it has a marble madness tileset (find it at RA den). The newer FSData.ini file is a bit messed up though since all the trigger stuff is from RA2 and not the TS versions that it should be.

I know this topic is a bit old, but I just wanted to lend some encouragement here...

While lots of people have moved on to Red Alert 2, Renegade, and Generals *blehk*, Tiberian Sun is still widely played. It's a shame it isn't played more, but I think with a little encouragement the community might be re-installing their games soon... as I'm right now trying desperately to make the perfect Tiberian Sun mod.

Anyhow, I'm still making maps, and still loving it. I have a lot of maps I've made but never released... if you want em just IM me on MSN...

Here's a couple places where you can find tons of TS maps:

http://www.tiberiumsun.com/downloads/maps3.shtml (note: download canopy, it's a really good map that I made)

http://www.tibmw.com/page.php?load=g...downloads/maps

And you can also find a lot of nice mods for TS (including my old mod, though it's terribly unbalanced, it's really fun: Earth's Final Hour) here:

http://www.tibmw.com/page.php?load=g...downloads/mods

Enjoy! And keep making TS maps!
