Default Branchings in waypaths?

Hey guys, I've got a question about waypaths...If there is a branching in the path (see pic) , and I have a unit follow the path, what happens?

Is one path chosen by chance? Or does the unit just follow the path that was set up first?
I hope anyone has an answer to this...
