Default How to make a river ford

To make a river ford in Generals so units can cross through the water, first make the water shallow so it looks like it is a place where units can cross by wading through the water.

Next, put across it one of those bridge object that is an object and not a road. ie it has a fixed size and cannot be stretched from point to point. Try the asian flood bridge, the one that is destroyed in dam busting cut scenes and breaks in pieces.

Adjust the Z value of the bridge so that it is underground and cannot be seen.

Then units can cross through the river water on top of the underground bridge.

Since those objects have fixed size, then how to make a very wide/long river ford, or make the entire river crossable by units?

You have to make the river narrower at that point or make an island in the middle so you can add a second underground bridge the other side. Those bridge things are usually big enough anyway as you seldom want a really wide river as it takes up too much space in your map.
